Product Engineer
French technical fluency an advantage
1.To interpret and establish customer program requirements and deliver project assumptions suitable for the customer need, including product test requirements. 2.To produce master timing plans for new projects and co-ordinate project timing. 3.To co-ordinate Product Engineering activities to ensure that customer requirements are achieved or exceeded. 4.To evaluate the impact of new requirements or design changes to the program and company. 5.To perform design calculations to assist the Design and Test functions. 6.To communicate with prototype and production suppliers (internally & externally) to ensure that program objectives are achieved. 7.To lead design reviews throughout product life. 8.To lead the APQP activity in phases 1 to 3 and actively participate in phases 4 & 5. 9.To lead cross functional teams in discussions related to program and design issues and participate at other times. 10.Communicates with the customer with regard to and design and timing issues. 11.To lead cost down engineering activities and participate in other company improvement initiatives. 12.To lead the preparation and update of DFMEAs. 13.Assist with product testing and problem resolution at all stages of product life. 14.Assist in the selection of suppliers and ongoing supplier communications. 15.Participate in and contributes to manufacturing process trials and problem resolution. 16.Ensure APQP and program information is documented, recorded and stored for future reference. 17.Support Commercial activities e.g. through technical presentations. 18.Prepare monthly status reports for programs and maintains open issue trackers.
Education; Minimum HND, ideally Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience; Minimum of 3 years related experience in a similar field (Automotive Mechanical design and Project management)
